Fall Classic Program

About the Program

Fall Classic is a semester-long study abroad program in which students take at least 12 NC State credits. An immersive survival language course, multiple cultural activities, plus both in- and out-of-country excursions are included.

Courses

Students enroll in at least twelve credit hours from the course options below. Each course will be offered contingent upon meeting minimum enrollment.

The program utilizes the historical city by visiting numerous museums, national monuments, cultural landmarks, and other significant venues to engage students in their course work, providing first-hand experiences that inform critical and creative thinking.

  • GPA Requirements: minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct
  • Meet the minimum eligibility policy set forth by the NC State Study Abroad Office

Excursions, Cultural Activities and Field Trips

Past field trips have included the Museum of Communism, the Center for Contemporary Art, and the Pilsner Urquell Brewery, among many others. The included excursion to South Bohemia is a memorable highlight of the program. Additionally, students can choose from among many optional cultural and sporting activities during the program, such as opera, bowling, visiting a medieval castle and trekking.

Housing

The NC State European Center in Prague provides housing for all program participants. In addition, several Czech student housing assistants (“dorm mates”) also reside in the buildings, providing on-site support and local connections. The program includes a standard double room; however students have the option to request single rooms for an additional cost. Accepted students will also have the opportunity to indicate housing preferences such as roommates, single versus double room, and dormitory location.
