Programs

In addition to the “classic” fall, spring and summer program models, NC State European Center offers alternative programs such as summer internships. All courses are NC State credits.

Fall Programs

Classic Program

A semester-long program where students earn at least 12 credit hours. Courses are taught by European instructors and utilize a combination of classroom instruction and field trips that enhance the content by using the city of Prague as an alternative classroom.

Prague Connect

A highly structured twelve-week long program designed specifically for incoming first-year students admitted to NC State as “Spring Connection.” Students will earn NC State credits, using the city and NC State Prague as their classroom.

Spring Program and Minor

Classic Program

The Spring Classic Program is a semester-long program in which students take at least 12 NC State credits. An immersive survival language course, cultural excursions, and in-country and out-of-country excursions are included.

Global Leadership Minor

The interdisciplinary minor is designed to give students a competitive edge in the global workforce. Students will earn 12 credit hours abroad towards a minor in 10 weeks. The nomadic program has modules in the Czech Republic and two other European locations.

Classic Program

Shakespeare in Performance

Faculty-led Program

A four-week-long program where students take two courses taught by an NC State faculty member. Students attend performances at the Prague Shakespeare Company and participate in a series of lectures provided by the company’s dramaturgs, actors, and designers

Struggle of the Free Press – Fake News and Conspiracy Theories

Faculty-led Program

A two-and-half-week-long program where students take one course taught by an NC State faculty member. This program will give students an in-depth look at the crisis facing democracy and the free press.

Summer Internship

A seven-week-long summer internship in Prague where students earn six NC State credit hours while gaining practical, real-world experience in a global setting.

A six-week-long program where students enroll in E 101, taught by an NC State faculty member, plus one additional course from the Classic Program options.
