About the Program
The Summer Classic is a six-week-long study abroad program in Prague, Czech Republic. Students take at least two NC State courses and experience Czech life through local cultural events, activities, and an in-country excursion to Český Krumlov.

Courses
Students enroll in at least five credit hours from the course options below. Each course will be offered contingent upon meeting minimum enrollment.
The program utilizes the historical city by visiting numerous museums, national monuments, cultural landmarks, and other significant venues to engage students in their coursework and provide first-hand experiences that inform critical and creative thinking.

- GPA requirements: minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (for summer programs only)
- Be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct
- Meet the minimum eligibility policy set forth by the NC State Study Abroad Office

- Admin Fee: $450 ($75 non-refundable Setup Fee and $375 Study Abroad Fee)

Excursions, Cultural Activities and Field trips
The NC State European Center believes that “the world becomes your classroom,” specifically in the Czech Republic and Prague. Local instructors take students to relevant locations for hands-on learning. Past field trips have included the Museum of Communism, Old Wastewater Treatment Facility, and Center for Contemporary Art, among others. The included excursion to South Bohemia is a memorable experience and a highlight of the program. Additionally, students can choose among many optional cultural and sporting activities during the program, such as opera, bowling, visiting a medieval castle and trekking.

Housing
The NC State European Center in Prague provides housing for all program participants.
Additionally, several student housing assistants reside in the buildings, providing on-site support and local connections. The program includes a standard double room; however, students can request single rooms for an additional cost. Accepted students can also indicate housing preferences such as roommates, single versus double rooms, and dormitory locations.
