Design History

Bio

Vojtěch Märc works as a researcher and a lecturer of contemporary art history and theory at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He received a Ph.D. at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague in 2022 with a project concerned with material and cognitive plasticity related to the political economy of design in socialist Czechoslovakia. Occasionally he also works as an independent curator and an art critic. He has been published in several art journals and magazines. He is a member of the curatorial team at Fotograf Gallery and a member of the editorial board of Fotograf Magazine, both based in Prague. His research broadly focuses on conditions and varieties of art experience, art practice at the disciplinary margins, and the limits of specialization.
