Andrea Tachezy received a Master’s degree in 1994 at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design – UMPRUM, where she studied textile design, as well as film and TV graphics.
She is a member of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists HOLLAR Prague and works as a freelance illustrator. Between 2004 and 2011 she was a senior lecturer in textile design at the University of Hradec Králové – and also at the University in Liberec between 2005 and 2006. Since 1994 she has been exhibiting her works in Czech Republic and abroad.
In the year 2000 she received a Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture Czech Republic in the Egon Schiele Center in Český Krumlov, and another 2 years later for graphic artists at Oberpfalzer Kunstlerhaus Schwandorf-fronberg.
These days she occupies herself with illustrating children’s books. She has illustrated more than twenty books, winning awards from the Czech publishers Albatros and Mladá fronta in the years 2008, 2011 and 2012.
