Major/Minor:
Mechanical Engineering and Philosophy
Why did you choose to study abroad?
New experiences and to travel to a place I’d never been. Meet new people
What did you learn about yourself?
I really enjoy traveling and the freedom it can afford.
What was one of your favorite parts of your program?
Meet new people before freshman year even starts. Explore a new and different city with a different culture and language. Learn to adapt to new environments.
What advice do you have to future study abroad students?
Do it. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. You have your whole life to work and earn money (maybe to travel maybe not) but this is the one time in your life you don’t have serious responsibilities to attend to so a few weeks or months away doesn’t put you so far behind.
How did your study abroad experience prepare you for your future career?
It opens me up further to different cultures that I could be interacting with as an engineer. New perspectives always help, especially when problem solving.
Would you do it again?
Yes
