Dr. Ondřej Pešout’s passion and interests meet in the niche of educational research. His main area of research focuses on designing interventions that promote children’s self-regulated learning (SRL) and metacognition. His research examined the use of metacognitive and SRL skills both at the elementary schools and at the college settings spanning the domains of reading comprehension, mathematics, natural & social science, and creativity. He graduated from Charles University in Prague in 2012 with a degree in Psychology and followed on in his education at North Carolina State University by earning a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction in 2017. Ondrej teaches Educational psychology and Child development courses at the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University and works on the research programs at the National Institute of Mental Health.
